The Centre, which is presently devoted to advanced research on liquid crystal materials and devices, plans to enlarge the scope of research to include related areas in soft condensed matter. As a prime activity, the Centre runs doctoral programmes and is affiliated to the Mangalore University for the award of Ph.D. degree. It has close collaborations with other research institutes, both within the country and abroad.
